JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Specialist of Hiring is an integral member of the Operations Staff Services team, functioning as a point of support for operations and responsible for hiring the very best talent for the Community Management and the Facilities teams. The Senior Specialist of Hiring is accountable for hiring quality Community Relations Representatives, Operations Coordinators, Maintenance Technicians, and Porters that retain and achieve their job expectations in the first 90 days. This role will interview candidates provided by Recruiting, set proper expectations, and deliver a job-ready candidate to the Trainer. As part of the Operations Staff Support team, they will also take on other responsibilities within that team when appropriate, like training and other projects related to the betterment of property operations. Additionally, they will assess the needs of the role over time to identify ways that their scope can evolve and improve. This includes creating programs and processes that can improve the hiring process, as well as assessing the resources needed to effectively operate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage the training process for all entry level positions in Community Management.
- Deliver and/or facilitate the delivery of all aspects of onboarding and other customer service training.
- Partner with Talent Development and Community Management Leadership on the creation of customer service training content/agendas.
- Monitor and achieve KPIs that lead to success within the role.
- Consistently assess and evaluate opportunities within the training processes.
- Identify and carry out strategic solutions to solve for opportunities in training.
- Collaborate closely with Talent Development, Hiring Specialists, and Community Management Leadership.
- Conduct interviews and engage in the hiring process as needed.
- Provide support to other Operations Staff Services departments as needed.
- Exercise discretion as it relates to confidential resident, property and company information.
- Compliance with company standards as defined in the Human Resources Policy Manual, E-Way Processes and Procedures, and applicable laws, e.g., Fair Housing, Landlord Tenant, Local Building Codes, OSHA, and EEOC.
- Complete all assignments timely and accurately.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college or university is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of property management experience is preferred.
- ARM or CAM designation is preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:
- Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
- Operates in a fast-paced work setting. Requires the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities. May involve tight deadlines and high-energy work situations.
- Involves frequent interaction with clients or customers. Requires effective communication skills and a professional demeanor. Work environment may include client offices, meeting rooms, or other external locations.
- This role demands availability for five days each week, with the potential for including weekends in the schedule as necessary.
- Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.
- This role does not require any travel; work is primarily conducted at the office. Minimal travel may be required for occasional meetings, training, or conferences.

The salary range for this position is $63,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $63,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
