Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources plans, organizes, controls, and directs the classified human resources program in compliance with merit system rules and regulations. The Director is responsible for assuring compliance with District policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state and local laws. The Director will demonstrate the ability to work with District administration, site administrators, bargaining unit representatives and classified staff to resolve technical, interpersonal, contractual, and legal problems, and ensure timely completion of personnel transactions.
This position requires expertise in the administration, coordination, organization and direction of the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of human resources operational policies, regulations and guidelines.
Requirements / Qualifications
Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor of Arts or higher degree from an accredited college or university and at least five years in increasingly responsible personnel experience. Previous experience in working in a merit system public agency is highly desirable. Experience working at a school district is preferred.
