As a Benefits Manager with NVR, you will manage and execute NVR’s benefits strategy. You will play a key role in the development, implementation, and administration of benefits policies, procedures, and programs. In this role, you will be responsible for developing communications, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and overall cost management.
The Benefits Manager leads a team of HR Associates and manages all components of HR Operations including pre-boarding, onboarding, and terminations.
This position reports to the Director of Compensation & Benefits and is based at NVR's corporate office in Reston, VA.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of NVR’s benefits strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Lead the planning, design, implementation, administration, and delivery of company-wide benefits.
- Negotiate and maintain contracts and ongoing relationships with outside benefit vendors/consultants.
- Conduct benefits market research to ensure NVR’s strategy and benefits programs are competitive, impactful, and cost effective.
- Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process which includes leading the annual benefit plans design and evaluation process, providing recommendations to leadership, implementing plan design updates, preparing enrollment materials, and facilitating communications.
- Provide consultative support and guidance to business leaders and HR business partners on benefits strategies, objectives, and programs.
- Ensure that NVR’s benefits programs are compliant with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and others.
- Manage the process for regulatory filings and reports which include, 1095Cs and 1094C ACA reporting, Form 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, PCORI and non-discrimination testing, CAA reporting.
- Develop and facilitate benefits related trainings and communications.
- Manage the HR Associate team and the daily operations of the benefits department which includes benefits administration, offer letters, background checks, drug screening, onboarding, and terminations.
- Provide business insights and recommendations on all aspects of HR operations through data analysis, research, and benchmarking.
- Identify and drive continuous process improvements across benefits and HR operations ensuring processes are efficient and scalable.
- Collaborate with IT to identify and implement system solutions that will drive efficiencies.
- Manage corporate relocations and temporary housing.
- Partner with managers and HR business partners to facilitate ADA accommodation requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with benefit plan design and administration.
- Experience leading a team.
- Knowledgeable with applicable federal and state laws and regulations including FMLA, ERISA, and ACA reporting, state mandated sick, disability, and leave.
- Proficiency in excel and data analysis.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable with administering self-insured insurance plans.
