Position Overview & Job Duties:
The Department of Humanities and Philosophy at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy to begin August 2024.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach introductory-level core curriculum courses in Philosophy (Contemporary Moral Problems, Introduction to Philosophy, Logic and Critical Thinking). Upper division teaching in area of expertise is expected. The teaching load is 4 courses per semester (fall and spring).

The College of Liberal Arts currently has 113 full-time and 152 part-time faculty in 8 academic departments. The College serves the University's Core Curriculum programs and enrolls more than 2,850 undergraduate students and more than 300 graduate students in 34 undergraduate and 17 graduate majors. Experience Required:
A Ph.D. in Philosophy from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized college or university by beginning of appointment.
Experience Preferred:
Significant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. Experience teaching diverse student populations is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Familiarity with online learning management systems (such as D2L) and web conference platforms (Teams, WebEx, Zoom) is valued.
