The Department of Human Services, Cumberland County Assistance Office (CAO) is looking for Clerical Assistant 2s to perform clerical functions related to the Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) administered by the CAO. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This is a limited term wage Clerical Assistant 2 position assigned to LIHEAP. After your on the job training, you perform a wide range of clerical duties, which will enhance staff members’ ability to provide quality services to the citizens of Pennsylvania. You also engage in a variety of clerical and general office duties by following office procedures and using relevant systems.
Clerical Assistant 2s interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner both in person and via telephone. You utilize basic computer skills to perform various office functions including data entry, customer service, scanning, imaging, filing, answering phones, and processing mail and voice mail. Job duties are carried out under the general supervision of a Clerical Supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time, seasonal employment, 37.5-hour work week
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
Seasonal employment generally lasts for 6 to 8 months from October through April but may change based on operational needs.

WORK CONDITIONS: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
Travel and overtime as needed.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title);or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cumberland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cumberland County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
