Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records; analyzing budgets; analyzing data; applying job-related codes, regulations and laws; Library technology systems; planning and managing projects; promoting activities and/or events; communication and collaboration skills; and screening telephone calls.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar and punctuation; office practices and procedures; accounting/bookkeeping principles; community resources; office equipment and technology; recordkeeping and record retention practices; specific library knowledge; and library resources for students with disabilities.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups; displaying tact and courtesy; being attentive to detail; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; working as part of a team; working with frequent interruptions; accuracy and attention to detail; adapting to changing work priorities; analyzing issues and determining appropriate course of action; maintaining confidentiality; multitasking; organizing tasks; working extended hours; working with detailed information/data; and demonstrated sensitivity to an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic background of community college students.
Responsibility:
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the organization's services.
Work Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience:
Three (3) years of job-related experience.
Education:
Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area.
Clearances:
Title 8, USC, Section 1324-A requires verification of eligibility for employment in the United States.
