Central support for supply chain planning activities aligning information from sales, operations, logistics, and finance to generate a collaborative supply chain plan ranging from tactical daily fulfilment management to strategic S&OP process . Must balance supply and demand through solutions that improve profitability and value to US Silica and its shareholders.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop, evolve, and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for supply chain planning processes and systems.
- Create monthly supply plan based upon all relevant inputs – open orders, sales forecast, inventory position, production forecast, logistics constraints, costs, sales price, and customer pull performance. Prepare analysis of latest supply issues along with countermeasures.
- Optimize daily/weekly shipments (transfers and sales customer fulfillment plan on all PO’s) collaborating cross-functionally to meet all goals/objectives.
- Develop and manage DOH inventory targets (safety and strategic levels approved by management) based upon current product performance and fulfillment rates.
- Work closely with trans load and 3rd party sites to communicate specific customer requirements and ensure timely completion of necessary supply chain information in JDE.
- Conduct supply-demand meetings (conference calls and other similar forums) to receive input from Sales/Marketing and Operations; incorporate any new information to modify the parameters used to set supply-demand plans.
- Risk quantification, margin analysis, and cost/benefit analysis
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
- Data Integrity- identifying critical information misaligned and reporting to CRM System Administrator.
- Support implementation of global/regional process and systems enhancements to improve demand planning and supply chain planning efficiency.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements serving as the business owner/subject matter expert for Supply Chain Planning tools. Remain open and flexible to all changes in processes and offer constructive suggestions for overall improvement
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, ISA or similar degree, Engineering
- At least 2-3 years of Supply Chain planning experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment; master scheduling and S&OP experience is a big plus
- Strong analytical ability and savvy user of advanced Excel formulas, charting, and analysis
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access, and Excel; experience with JDE enterprise system
- Individual needs to work well with both internal (US Silica) and external (customers and operators) stakeholders and effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment; solid interpersonal skills are a must
- Must be able to look beyond the obvious and demonstrate out of the box thinking; the ability to question status quo and generally accepted beliefs
- Detail oriented with high propensity of accurate output
- Experience in fast-paced and multi -stake holder environment
