Job Summary
*This recruitment is for substitute positions in the Imperial County Migrant Head Start area, which includes the following cities: Brawley, Calexico, and El Centro.*
The position of Permit Teacher is for the purpose/s of facilitating preschool student success in developmental and interpersonal skills by implementing curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of preschool students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Please see job description for a list of job functions and minimum qualifications.

Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Completion of 175 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program; working at least three hours per day within the last four years is required and must be verified. (This experience may include paid and/or volunteer work.)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS THROUGH JUNE 2025:
An Associate degree from an accredited college/university is required. Bachelor degree from an accredited
college/university is preferred. An Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS BEGINNING JULY 2025:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. A Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES:
• Possession of a valid California Children’s Center/Child Development Teacher Permit authorizing instruction in a child development center program (Refer to Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for Child Development Teacher Permit)
• Possession of a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit preferred
• Valid California Driver’s License
