This is a part-time, on-site role for an Adjunct Professor in the entrepreneurship program at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. The Adjunct Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses. All courses are very experiential, project-based courses focused on enabling students to practice relevant skills. Instructors will guide and mentor students through a series of experiential activities, and will guide and mentor students through problem-solving and ideation projects working with community partners to scaffold the applicable skills for the course. Instructors will facilitate in-class discussions, discussions through Canvas, through group working sessions, and will be responsible for all classroom management and assessment.
All courses include students using AI tools throughout the semester.
The following are available courses and timing for the fall 2024 semester that begins August 19 and ends December 13:
ER1110: Monday 9-9:30am, 10-10:30am, 11-11:30am and 5-6pm
- Develops creative ability and its application to problem solving. Uses experiential exercises and the lenses of visual, digital, and musical arts to create and present projects/ideas.
ER3301: MWF 9:30-10:30am or Tuesday & Thursday 11:30-12:35 - Students will practice human-centered design processes, idea generation and validation, product prototyping, business design and modeling, customer development, and persuasive pitching. This course requires individual and team presentations.
ER3305 – Accounting & Finance for Entrepreneurs – Tuesday & Thursday 9:55-11:10am
- Introduces accounting and finance concepts and fundamentals for an entrepreneurial venture or idea. Focuses on the money needed to start a venture, revenue and expense forecasting, and sources of start-up capital. Also covers business ownership options and issues, and ethical issues as they relate to entrepreneurial finance.
