Location Los Angeles, CA - Reporting Structure The Assistant Designer, Women's Sweaters reports directly to the Sr. Director, Women's Sweater Design. What You'll Be Responsible For Prepare for Design fittings by specing all proto samples.... Update design hand-sketches throughout season as changes occur Attend weekly Work-In-Progress (WI - Ps) meetings - accountable for maintaining records of all design changes Generate tech packs and update them with fit comments and BOM updates. Maintain updated bill of materials (BOMs)Generate, send out, and track knit down requests. Set up initial seasonal linesheets for each collection and maintain as changes occur throughout development Prepare seasonal color - once color pallets have been finalized, create smaller pallet boards to share with cross-functional teams Create seasonal swatch cards for sketch boards. Assist with internal look book shoots by supporting the Chief Creative Officer in creating the material detailing all looks Assist Chief Creative Officer in creating digital inspiration boards for market Maintain seasonal swatch library and inspiration closet. Qualifications
/ Experience We're Looking ForMust have a 4-year College degree in Fashion Apparel Design, preferable focus on sweaters Must have minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in Apparel Design work experience (internships included)Must have excellent working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel. Must have excellent hand-sketching skills Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter. This position requires one to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions. Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative. Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication. Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change.
