remote locations. identifies and Maintains the unique processes related to the care and handling, cleaning, sterilization
and storage of advanced technology devices that require care over and above surgical instrumentation due to the
fragility and higher level of accountability associated with this technology. assures accuracy by proactively managing
daily quality assurance, periodic audits, and implementing improvements as needed.
1. Establish and maintain an efficient system for processing of surgical instruments and restocking of surgical supplies
through the development of department policies and procedures that ensure adequate and proper quantities of
reprocessed supplies and equipment to meet patient care demands
2. Analyze daily surgery schedule and preference list to prioritize department workload and avoid potential shortages
of instruments and sets
3. Role models appropriate communication skills with staff and other departments, especially in problem resolution
4. Ensures that all products and supplies are handled in a manner consistent with the principles and
institutional/departmental policies relating to infection control, sterilizer monitoring, packaging and processing
5. Manages the department quality control and quality improvement programs
QualificationsRequired:
*Associate’s Degree
*CRST or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service
Technician)
*Three (3) years of CSPD experience or related instrument
management
*GED equivalent and an additional 5 years of related
experience can substitute for the Associate’s Degree
