The Marketing Associate is responsible for the management of the Premium Ready to Cook (RTC) branded and private label Organic and No Antibiotics Ever product lines in alignment with the overall business unit and company strategy. This individual will be the key contributor in the achievement of the annual financial objectives and long-term strategic plan with heavy emphasis on helping us grow our Chicken business. The Marketing Associate will be responsible for initiating and executing business building projects involving private label and branded product launches, promotions, trade and consumer communications, research, new product development and packaging design. The person will collaborate across the organization to execute initiatives and deliver objectives and will support the RTC Brand Manager with actionable analysis of financial reporting, syndicated data and competitive products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead/execute product launches for both private label and branded initiatives
- Analyze financial reports, syndicated data, competitive activity, consumer research, etc. and provide insights to RTC Brand Manager and cross functional team members
- Track overall fresh business performance on delivering revenue, volume, and profit goals, tying together external market trends, IRI, and internal shipment data. Support and provide insights on premium performance at the customer level
- Coordinate with Product Management and the Sales team in the planning of opportunities relative to the raising of birds, usage of meat, and scheduling of plants
- Collaborate directly with retailers and field sales for key customer initiatives
- Lead quality for fresh chicken coordinating insights and standardization for operational excellence
- Ensure accurate product specifications and graphics between internal and external customer systems
- Manage RTC budget including tracking and forecasting marketing spend needs
- Support consumer communications planning and creation
- Contribute to annual brand plan objectives and strategies
- Innovation support to bring new products to market
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with demonstrated experience in an analytical position
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Syndicated Data Tools, ERP Software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, such as corporate executives, sales personnel, plant & production team, etc.
- Demonstrated excellence in project management and organizational skills
- Excellent presentation skills with both large and small audiences
- Ability to build relationships and accomplish tasks through others
- Must be located in California
Preferred Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in a marketing role at a food / cpg manufacturer, or other equivalent work experience
- Excellent project management skills and cross functional leadership
- Strong grasp of CPG and brand management fundamentals
- Experience managing consumer promotion and communication budgets
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, syndicated data and consumer research results
