DEFINITION Under the direction of the Chief Officer or designee, the Systems Standards Coordinator analyzes, organizes, and coordinates systems, business processes, practices, and workflows accessed by users across functional lines; serves as the principal systems liaison to other divisions and vendors for analyzing, modifying or designing changes and processes to integrate with a variety of internal systems; provides technical expertise to management and staff regarding the utilization of data to support decision-making; builds, updates, and maintains a variety of data dashboards and reports; serves as a District liaison for assigned system implementations; prepares and presents staff and stakeholder system and process training; and is responsible for the development of procedure documents and desk manuals related to assigned systems.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The primary duties of the Systems Standards Coordinator are to serve as principal liaison to coordinate cross-functional business processes and operational priorities on behalf of their assigned division and under the direction of leadership. This position will coordinate efforts to operationalize best practices and applicable regulations through interdepartmental collaboration for the development of efficient processes and sustainable systems. This position requires innovative approaches to solve business needs and problems while also enhancing the integration and alignment of District priorities. An employee in this class exercises considerable technical, analytical, and leadership skills and has the opportunity to impact the District’s accomplishment of goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties represent the principal job duties but are not all-inclusive.

Oversees technical business systems for assigned division; coordinates system implementation; and leads initiatives to develop, improve, and/or implement priority systems and/or processes. E
Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and organizational standards, specifications, and best practices. E
Serves as interdepartmental liaison to coordinate cross-functional business processes for assigned operational priorities; researches and implements proven strategies to operationalize systems, business processes, and procedures across functional departments. E
Applies best practices to manage projects, set standards, and collaborate with functional users to develop work processes and cross-functional data flows to integrate into district-wide system capabilities. E
Conducts exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns to produce meaningful insights into operational deficiencies, data integrity and disparities, performance metrics, and other data sets identified by District leadership. E
Assists in the development of measurable metrics and benchmarks; prepares and presents dashboards, reports, and presentations to track related key performance indicators. E
Analyzes, documents, and performs gap analyses on work processes, procedures, and systems capabilities and functionality to determine if improved methods are possible; develops and presents recommendations for new approaches, improvements, or alternative solutions to enhance and streamline systems across divisions and school sites. E
Collaborates with management, staff, and subject matter experts to analyze and document business processes, including policies and procedures, evaluate alternatives and recommended best practice solutions; defines and documents business work and data flows, needs and requirements; participates in setting priorities for systems projects. E
Assists management in developing work process and procedural changes to improve work efficiency and effectiveness and supplement technology solutions; facilitates sharing of information regarding work process issues and consideration of both technology and non-technology based process improvements. QUALIFICATIONS Any other combination of experience, training, and/or education that could likely provide the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a related field, which may include Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, or related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience At least three years or more years of experience in project management and working with business systems is required. Experience in a Local Education Agency (LEA) is highly preferred. LEA managerial experience is preferred.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES A valid California Class C driver’s license and vehicle insurability is required. The availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.
