As part of the Fairfax County Park Authority Project Management Branch Trail Team this position is responsible for independently managing projects involving multiple agencies, community stakeholders, and project-based matrix organization teams. Directs and manages all phases of capital development projects to include scoping, design, and construction. Supervises professional, paraprofessional technical and administrative personnel assigned to projects. Ensures projects are completed within the approved scope, budget, and schedule. Supervises professional, paraprofessional technical and administrative personnel assigned to projects. In addition to trails may be assigned a wide variety of site development related projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural field; plus, three years of progressively responsible professional experience in the appropriate engineering or architectural field.
Contingent upon the area of assignment, some positions within this class may require specific certification(s) prior to employment and/or the ability to acquire necessary certification(s) within a specified time period following employment. The certifications are identified in the position description and employment advertisement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- At least 3 years of experience procuring, administering, and managing engineering design and/or construction contracts for site or building construction.
- Experience with project financial and budgetary planning, tracking, and reporting at the project level.
- At least 3 years of experience managing multiple capital projects in design and/or construction on park or park related facilities, transportation, stormwater, or utility projects.
- Experience includes planning, budget and schedule development, site assessment, quality control, constructability reviews, construction bid document preparation, and construction administration.
- Project management experience with the approval and permitting for site or building construction projects.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Driver's license (required)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to visit park sites, walk through woods and rough terrain. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
