Breast Center Supervisor Full Time Day
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Manager, the Supervisor prepares for and operates imaging equipment following specific physicians orders. Produces detailed computer generated scans of patients for breast and DEXA exams, verifies patients identification prior to scan, selects patient from work list, ensures exam is archived on the PACS. Maintains facilities in proper order. Must keep abreast of all new departmental imaging. Oversees and supervises the daily operations and staff in the Breast Center. Oversees all Quality Assurance program activities. Performs a variety of mammographic exams for the diagnosis of pathological conditions of the breast.
EDUCATION:
Completion from an accredited Radiology Technology program and registered by the ARRT. Registered in Mammography thru ARRT.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five year's experience as a staff imaging technologist and proficient in performing all procedures pertinent to area of responsibility. Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience desired.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Registered in Radiology Technology by the ARRT (M) and a current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP. Current CPR certification thru the American Heart Association. Physical dexterity to operate a variety of complex stationary and mobile radiation producing equipment and mechanical accessories. Ability to work in sensitive areas including the OR. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and vascular systems. Effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform accurately and attention to details, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system, and with patients, family members, co-workers, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. , physicians, Patient Care Services staff members, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Proficiency in window based applications, Word and Excel desired.
