SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, child development or related field; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Two years experience working with children, youth, adolescents, or families from underserved communities.
• One-Two years experience working with at-promise youth (Systems-Impacted youth).
• 6 months experience in the field of family violence intervention, client services, and/or crisis intervention.
• One year experience providing crisis intervention, group activities, advocacy and/or case management.
• One year experience with Los Angeles foster care systems and Los Angeles County youth probation system.
• 6 months experience in the field of family violence intervention, client services, and/or crisis intervention.
• Bilingual oral and written fluency in Spanish.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.
• Strong leadership, facilitation, and public-speaking skills for small groups and large settings.
• Must demonstrate respect for cultural diversity in all its forms, including ethnicity, linguistic, abilities, genders, and religious backgrounds.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, Access).
• Organized and detail oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage individual responsibilities and multi-tasking.
• Ability to maintain a proactive approach and execute all duties in their entirety.
• Proactively adapt to always changing requirements and duties.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to move around fairgrounds
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
