Position description
The Department of Theater and Dance at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses during the 2024-2025 Academic Year in the following areas of Dance Technique specialization: Ballet; Modern Dance; Street Dance; Social Dance; Flamenco; Gaga; Hip Hop; Jazz; and/or Tap). Expertise in more than one of these techniques is desired, though not required.
Work will be in person on the UCSB campus. Reimbursement for travel and housing expenses will not be provided. Information about the UCSB Department of Theater and Dance is available through the Department’s web page: http://www.theaterdance.ucsb.edu/
The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of a Tier 1 Research University through research, teaching and service as appropriate to the position. Salary is standard, based on the UC’s salary scales and depends on qualifications.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants must possess an MFA or, in the absence of a degree, at least 5 years equivalent experience in dance instruction at the time of application.
Preferred qualifications
At least five years teaching experience in applicable specialty (dance technique, embodied anatomy, music for dance, choreography/improvisation) is preferred. College or University teaching experience is desired.
