Position Summary for Associate Teacher, Village School 2024-25

This teacher uses student-centered, experiential, and differentiated methods in line with Chadwick’s philosophy. The primary goal of this model is to benefit children while supporting the growth of teachers.
Chadwick School’s associate model serves multiple purposes. The primary role of the associate teacher is to support and supervise students while working closely with the lead teacher. Secondly, this role serves to provide often less experienced teachers with hands-on professional experience working with a mentor teacher.
In K-2 classrooms, each classroom has a lead teacher and an associate teacher in order to provide additional individualized, differentiated instruction for younger children. As children become more independent, one associate teacher is shared between both classrooms in the third through fifth grades.
The specific responsibilities of associate teachers vary by grade level and teaching team.
