St. Bernard School, a TK-8th Catholic school in the heart of Los Angeles, is growing its 50/50 Spanish/English dual language program into the 4th grade for the 24-25 school year! We are looking for a Spanish teacher for the 3rd and 4th grade DLI classrooms.
The well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring educator will be expected to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate yet rigorous academic curriculum in line with the Spanish Common Core and Archdiocesan standards. Importantly, this position demands an educator who is skilled in differentiation, can clearly articulate and hold high expectations for all, and whose classroom management is impeccable. Teacher will be expected to:
Conduct 98-100% of instruction in Spanish.
Teach grade level content (Spanish Language Arts, Math and Science) in Spanish
Structure activities in the classroom to encourage students to engage in both language input and output, to facilitate oral language production and comprehension.
Plan complementary, biliteracy lessons with the English grade level teacher
Requirements
Employment requirements:
Bachelors degree
The most successful candidates will be working on or have attained a teaching credential/Masters degree as well as have experience teaching Spanish in a dual language or bilingual program.

Wage Range The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range.
