260-day, 8 Hour Work Day Salary $15.50 per hr with benefits as per the AFSCME Contract.
Purpose of Position
Receives and routes incoming calls and greets visitors to the Administration Building; provides general information and assistance to the public; assists in preparation and distribution of district materials; performs routine office support functions, including word processing and data entry; and performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for answering and referring all incoming calls on the district's general telephone lines while providing prompt and courteous customer service.
Greets and provides visitors with general information and directions, including signing in and out of the building.
Performs routine office support functions such as, but not exclusive to, typing letters, sorting paperwork, assembling and distributing materials to district staff and/or public. Employee updates in E-finance and /or other related systems.
Responds to inquiries and concerns in accordance with the district policies and practices and management direction while maintaining confidentiality.
Provides general information regarding district functions and responds to routine inquiries or complaints from customers and the public; refers non-routine, sensitive and/or complex requests for information and other inquiries or complaints to appropriate staff.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
High School Diploma, or G.E.D. required
Bilingual translation ability is strongly preferred; but not required
Two years of secretarial or office administration experience
Exceptional, strong customer service skills necessary
Knowledge in Microsoft Office functions, such as Word and Excel
Strong data entry skills and familiarity with web based systems, and basic office equipment
