Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Safety Advisor
We are seeking a Safety Advisor to join our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about healthcare as well as EHS!
Role Overview:
Perform inspections of assigned safety equipment and maintain records in compliance with NFPA, International Fire Code, FDNY, OSHA, and Joint Commission Standards.
Promotes the advancement of the MSK safety culture for assigned areas and act as the EHS liaison through implementation of EHS services and programs.
Assist with safety inspections, audits, and facility safety surveillance; initiate corrective actions to achieve safety compliance, generate work order requests, and follow up with responsible parties.
Conduct fire and non-fire drills, fire drill in-service trainings, and provide training on health and safety programs including fire safety awareness, hazardous materials management, and occupational health and safety. Respond to emergency incidents and assist with workplace investigations.
Key Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience in EHS, Facilities, or Hospital Operations
Proven Understanding of building and fire codes, OSHA standards and National Fire Protection Association standards.
Proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
FDNY Issued Certificate of Fitness F-53, S-95, W-07 (able to acquire within 3-6 months)
Core Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to multitask in a fast paced office
Ability to work independently
Additional Information:
This role is onsite at1275 York Ave with the flexibility to report to other MSK locations as needed.
