Job Overview
The Sourcing Manager will play a critical role supporting the Sourcing Director and guiding the activities of the team. This role will work closely with the Director to develop and execute sourcing strategies to drive key initiatives to help achieve financial goals. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for their category of business and deliver the metrics required in cost negotiation, quality expectations, and on-time delivery from vendor matrix. The incumbent will use data and analytics to help drive decision making and influence goal outcome.
Responsibilities and Duties
Builds effective strategic relationships with cross-functional partners, internal stakeholders, external suppliers to drive positive results and influence change.
Develops vendor and product solutions in support of the company priorities, ensuring product innovation and quality are strategically aligned.
Manages the “time and action” calendar to drive cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
Responsible for negotiating with vendors to ensure value-based program pricing and delivery of product.
Partner with Director in building a sourcing strategy for their assigned area of responsibility.
Leverages analytics and experience to identify and prioritize new sourcing opportunities.
Manages and develops sourcing specialists to become highly efficient and strategic partners.
Researches, anticipates, and manages risk by reviewing trends in the marketplace.
Utilizes economic indicators to influence business actions and decision making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business related major, or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of sourcing experience with demonstrated track record of achievement in sourcing
Demonstrated success leading others.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
Comfortable with data collection, analyzing, and interpreting data.
