Hotel Maintenance must maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Hotel Maintenance performs general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas to include plumbing, lighting, repairing floors, roofs, and doors and installing new products, such as windows, carpets, and light fixtures.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer/Supervisor and review priorities and special projects
Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments
Maintain timeliness and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program
Check work orders and night report for any problems. Make rounds checking these problem areas and note any information needed or safety concerns in the hotel
Schedule work in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms, coordinating with the Executive Housekeeper and Front Office
Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas
Assist electrician, carpenter, plumber and painter in all phases of repair work
Assist other engineering personnel as instructed by supervisor in regards to routine and preventive maintenance
Assume the responsibilities of the Duty Engineer, which includes carrying the radio, conducting rounds and checking building equipment
Wipe down walls, clean and paint, as needed
Repair furniture
Assist with snow removal and procedures
Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
Availability during peak operating times, ie: Weekends, Holidays and Special Events
Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
Understand company's emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary

Perform various other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 80 pounds
Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 250 pounds
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours or more in length
Work environment -- Engineering workshop, all areas of the hotel. Working on stepladders. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings, and around fumes and/or odor hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, and chemicals.
Climbing in ceilings -- elevated platforms.
1-2 years demonstrated maintenance engineer experience, preferably in a hospitality or food and beverage environment
AHLEI -- Maintenance certification within 6 months of employment
