JOB TITLE: Director

DUTIES: [NOTE: The Director will not have direct reports to supervise on a daily basis. Manage and perform day-to-day activities in support of forensic and litigation consulting projects including document review, data mining and damages analysis, interaction with clients, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement. Develops work plans and executes analyses to assess complex questions of fact, assists in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties. Applies accounting, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements and underlying accounting records, preparation of projections, and preparation of worksheets to model business processes. Develops a complete understanding of FTI’s business segment offerings and uses that knowledge to recognize opportunities for FTI to help meet the needs of current and future clients. Delivers a high-quality product within established timeframes and budgets. Performs technical, industry, and company research utilizing online tools and publicly available information. Projects involve an analysis of market dynamics, feedstock and supply chain and competitive landscape over the broader petroleum and chemicals industry. Apply scientific principles related to mass balances, heat transfer and kinetic yields using process simulation software (i.e. HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus) if needed. Evaluate new and existing technologies with regard to yield, conversion, cost and economics. Review and analyze the process design basis and flowsheet for capital projects using standard engineering techniques, codes, guidelines and/ or practices such as American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) and American Petroleum Institute (API). Analyze Industry Key Performance Metrics as they relate to utilization, variable cost, chemical usage etc. Analyze supply/demand pricing, provide due diligence support, strategy, acquisition support and litigation support, for the petroleum and chemical industry. Provide due diligence on chemical and refining plant process problems, process design calculations in Microsoft Excel and/or process simulation software (i.e. HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus), concerns and/or issues. Analyze, review and provide feedback on Heat and Material Balances (H&MB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Basic Engineering Data/ Design. Apply Process Engineering concepts to review and comment on plant process operations, start-up, shut down and downtime by careful review of plant historian data. Analyze Process design parameters, engineering analysis and optimization. Prepare written presentations, exhibits, and expert reports on the project scope and/or results of activities. Apply technical and commercial experience, economic, financial, valuation and analytical skills to various client situations.
REQUIREMENTS: Job requires Master's in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or related field of study and 2 years of experience in any job title involving market analysis in the petroleum and chemical industry OR Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or related field of study and 5 years of experience in any job title involving market analysis in the petroleum and chemical industry.
Must have 2 years of prior experience with the following:
Demonstrated experience in petroleum or chemical industry.
Demonstrated experience performing analyzing supply/demand pricing, providing due diligence support, strategy, acquisition support, and litigation support within the petroleum and chemical industry.
Demonstrated experience analyzing market dynamics, feedstock, and supply chain and competitive landscape within the petroleum and chemical industry.
Demonstrated experience providing due diligence on chemical and refining plant process problems, process design calculations in Microsoft and/or process simulation software (i.e. HYSYS and/or Aspen Plus).
Demonstrated experience analyzing, reviewing, and providing feedback on Heat and Material Balances (H&MB), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Basic Engineering Data/Design.
Salary: $146,786-$160,000/year
