Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Raw Potato Receiving Manager to manage all aspects of raw potato scheduling, receiving, procurement and contract balance management from our High Street facility in Hanover, PA. This is a Weekday Day Shift position reporting to the Director, Potato Operations. This position is responsible for the development of daily and weekly potato delivery schedule. In this role you will communicate with farmers, growers, and brokers regarding incoming loads on a daily basis and will lead the day-to-day functions of potato receiving and potato quality analysis. This position will also back fill for various roles within the department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Schedules and maintains the incoming raw potato delivery schedule.
- Monitors and reports on the daily incoming raw potato and finished chip quality.
- Develops and maintains the weekly and monthly contract balance worksheets.
- Directs the duties and responsibilities of the Potato Quality Analyst.
- Shares “On-Call” responsibilities with Director of Potato Operations.
- Manages the potato grower scorecard report. Creates reports and performance-based summaries to document potato grower/supplier performance.
- Attends potato-related seminars, meetings, and conducts field inspections as needed.
- Oversees the Utz variety trial collaboration efforts, provides variety trial feedback to industry stakeholders.
- Supports corporate initiatives and maintains and reports on supplier progress toward reaching set goals in Gap Certification, ESG Reporting, Trace Gains, etc.
- Responsible for following all safety rules and practices.
- Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Potato Operations
Requirements:
- Requires 4 yr degree with a focus in Agricultural Business or 2-5 years of agricultural production or other agricultural work experience.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to interface assertively with employees and suppliers.
- Expert level attention to detail.
- Ability to learn to identify potato related deficits and willingness to learn all phases of potato related QA.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and practices.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Proficient understanding of computer operations and use of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines.
