Job Description Summary
In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes, the Department of Student Engagement assists students in finding connection and community at Chapman University. Through assisting Panther Pantry users and helping to manage Panther Pantry inventory, Panther Pantry Assistants will help the University support students’ basic needs. All Panther Pantry Assistants are members of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
Provide an inviting atmosphere for pantry users
Verify access eligibility upon check-in according to established guidelines
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and respect for pantry users
Refer students to additional resources as needed
Maintain food safety standards while working in the pantry
Maintain stocking of pantry shelves and the pantry storage room
Maintain current inventory as items are collected via in-person or online orders
Assemble online pantry orders
Assist with delivery of Second Harvest Food Bank donations
Act as a liaison between Department of Student Engagement and students
Assist in Department of Student Engagement department-wide events
Assist in other duties as assigned
Ability to work up to 15 hours a week
Ability to work on Fridays for deliveries from Second Harvest Food Bank
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience working with food pantry operations
Knowledge of or experience with other campus programs, resources, and services
