The Process Engineer will define project scopes, lead cross functional process improvements teams and manage or participate in projects to develop process and equipment solutions to manufacturing problems. The engineer will be required to observe processes, understand the key process parameters and be able to understand the relationship between these and the product's key characteristics. The successful individual will need to work well with all levels of the organization and will be required to manage outside contractors.

Responsibilities:
Ensure that the manufacturing processes can be operated in a safe and stable manner.
Participate in the site's safety program including addressing process safety concerns.
Lead and/or participate in capacity optimization and waste reduction projects.
Facilitate and lead process trials for raw material and process re-sites.
Lead new product introduction scale-up projects from our Research & Innovation team.
Lead new process start-up and commissioning projects.
Resolve chronic process problems.
Make capital expenditure recommendations when needed to facilitate any of the above.
Support customer, internal and third party audits.

The Successful Applicant
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or other related field is required.
A minimum of 5 years work related experience in a chemical processing environment.
Troubleshooting skills and root cause - corrective action analysis experience are a must.
Needs to display good interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written skills.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to handle multiple projects.
Experience with mixing and film coating processes are a plus.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID and other technical drawings and specifications.
Six Sigma statistical training and Lean manufacturing principles are strongly desired.
