Performs an accounting/reporting customer service role to all group contacts. Performs a support role in general for the department which would include accounting and analysis. Works under close supervision. This position has the option to work remote; Cleveland, Ohio area residents preferred. Responsibilities Client Accounting Specialist I Conducts weekly and monthly invoicing of self-administered groups- claims, administrative fees, stop loss premium, commissions, manual invoice adjustments, queries, analysis, supplementary schedules, etc. Reviews contracts and group rates and terms set up in invoicing system. Performs weekly and monthly monitoring of specific and aggregate stop loss, annual stop loss settlements and ERISA filing information, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Client Accounting Specialist II Conducts weekly and monthly invoicing of self-administered groups- claims, administrative fees, stop loss premium, commissions, manual invoice adjustments, queries, analysis, supplementary schedules, etc. Reviews contracts and group rates and terms set up in invoicing system. Performs weekly and monthly monitoring of specific and aggregate stop loss, annual stop loss settlements and ERISA filing information, etc. Performs monthly and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to internal departments including Underwriting, Performance and Sales. Performs other duties as assigned. Sr Client Accounting Specialist Conducts weekly and monthly invoicing of self-administered groups- claims, administrative fees, stop loss premium, commissions, manual invoice adjustments, queries, analysis, supplementary schedules, etc. Reviews contracts and group rates and terms set up in invoicing system. Performs weekly and monthly monitoring of specific and aggregate stop loss, annual stop loss settlements and ERISA filing information, etc. Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations. Performs monthly and adhoc reporting and analysis to internal departments including Underwriting, Performance and Sales. Training new employees Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Client Accounting Specialist I Education and Experience Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, but will consider collective experience, training and education. 6 months of professional experience in accounting or billing. Technical Skills and Knowledge Proficient computer skills, Intermediate MS Office Skills including MS Access or other database programs. Organizational and Problem Solving Skills. Ability to learn accounting rules and concepts and ability to apply the appropriate accounting standards to the relevant job duties. Client Accounting Specialist II Education and Experience Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred, but will consider collective experience, training and education. 2 years of progressive experience as a Client Accounting Specialist I, or the equivalent professional experience in accounting or billing. Technical Skills and Knowledge Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Access or other database programs. Organizational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of accounting rules and concepts and ability to apply the appropriate accounting standards to the relevant job duties. Sr Client Accounting Specialist Education and Experience Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, but will consider collective experience, training and education. 3 years of progressive experience as a Client Accounting Specialist I or II, or the equivalent professional experience in accounting or billing preferred. Technical Skills and Knowledge Proficient computer skills, Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Access or other database programs. Intermediate knowledge of accounting rules and concepts and ability to apply the appropriate accounting standards to the relevant job duties. Ability to give instruction, guidance, and direction to others as a function of department orientation training.
