Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide III(Housekeeping Lead) at Newton Medical Center to work 3:00PM-11:00PM, including every other weekend.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and training for housekeeping associates on a daily basis.
Complete housekeeping work schedules.
Assist with finding coverage for staff call-outs.
Complete maintenance request reports when needed.
Report deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor.
Attends required in-services and staff meetings.
In absence of the housekeeping supervisor, lead co-workers in the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department.
Trains new associates and assists in department orientation process.
Communicates associate performance, conduct, issues, etc. to the Director of Building Services Customer Satisfaction.
Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying member needs and exceeding expectations.
Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
Must be able bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS. minimum and stand for long periods of time.
Great communication/customer service/people skills a must.
Relevant Experience:
1 to 3 years previous EVS leadership experience preferred.
5+ years of previous housekeeping experience in a hospital/healthcare environment preferred.
