DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As part of this position, your main responsibility will be to conduct standardized on-road exams to assess the skills and competence of applicants for a Non-Commercial Driver License. You will also be responsible for evaluating the physical conditions and driving qualifications of applicants, as well as checking the mechanical condition of vehicles according to established guidelines. Before conducting the driving tests, you will perform pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and assess the applicant's knowledge of vehicle controls. Additionally, you will review applications, registrations, and permits for any signs of irregularities or fraud. Another important aspect of your role will be administering knowledge exams to test applicants' understanding of the motor vehicle code and traffic signs. Lastly, you will evaluate applicants' practical demonstration of motor vehicle operation and their adherence to traffic rules, as well as conduct vision tests using telebinoculars, color perception tests, and other vision assessments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (commonwealth title);or
Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Special Requirements:
This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.
All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
