As a Supply Chain Buyer, your mission is to optimize procurement processes, foster supplier relationships, and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality products at competitive prices. You’ll also provide exceptional customer service to hospital departments.
Responsibilities
Review Purchase Requisitions:
Evaluate requisitions for item quantities and specifications.
Prioritize urgent medical and patient care-related orders.
Conduct research on product availability, alternative suppliers, and value analysis.
Supplier Interaction:
Meet with vendor sales representatives to discuss new products and negotiate pricing.
Obtain competitive bids when necessary.
Negotiate price, purchase terms, and equipment life cycle costs.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare cost analysis reports using Excel, detailing cost of goods, potential rebates, and discounting levels.
Collaborate with department heads to recommend alternatives for requested products.
Expedite orders affected by vendor backorders, credit holds, or emergencies.
Process Compliance:
Ensure purchase requisitions comply with financial protocols before committing to vendors.
Support supply chain initiatives and understand inventory management and accounts payable operations.
Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years of applicable experience in procurement or supply chain.
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in using hospital ERP systems.
Data analysis skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Negotiation Skills:
Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.
Effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands
Lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects (up to 10 pounds occasionally).
Sedentary work (remaining stationary most of the time).
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000
