This position is within the Administrative Services Bureau of the Police Department. The job responsibilities for the Administrative Support Coordinator include performing an array of functions that include analysis and management of criminal and arrest records. This position requires technical knowledge of the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) or Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. Additionally, the qualified applicant must have experience managing criminal records and associated tasks, and the ability to provide leadership in a team setting. Success in the position requires you to be a creative, multi-tasking, problem solving, and an organized individual, who can work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

About This Role: The Prince William County Police Department Records Supervisor role includes direct supervision and evaluation of work performed by members of the Police Records Section. This role prioritizes the daily Records Section tasks and processes among the team members and ensures timeliness and accuracy of the various Records responsibilities. Customer service to citizen requests is the top priority. The Supervisor may also assist, when needed with various workloads including assisting the Police Records Manager with reports disseminated to the Chief of Police and Virginia State Police. This role works closely with another Police Records Supervisor (Admin Coordinator), Police Records Manager and Admin Bureau Lieutenant.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related (records administration) experience. Preferences: The successful candidate demonstrates excellent customer service skills, understanding and knowledge of the Police Records reporting processes including the NIBRS (National Incident Based Reporting System) quality control coding, front desk report request processing, assisting with the periodic record retention tasks and police reports among other work processes. The Police Records Supervisor is able to influence a team of people, delegate workload tasks, lead with humility, and display emotional intelligence. The successful candidate will also have very good communication skills both written and verbal. The successful candidate may also perform training for members of the Police Department.
Special Requirements: All employees considered for hire by the Police Department are subject to a Polygraph Examination and a thorough Background Investigation. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am – 4pm.
Starting Salary Range: 34.59 - 40.69
