Job Summary
San Dieguito Union High School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled Behavior Specialist Teacher. This role involves providing direct services to students with Behavior Intervention Services (BIS) identified on their IEPs and training staff on positive behavior intervention and classroom management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide direct services to students with BIS identified on their IEPs.
-Train teams on positive behavior intervention strategies for student implementation.
-Train and support teachers with positive classroom management strategies.
-Collaborate with the District’s specialized programs around behaviors
-Consult with site staff (school psychologists, teachers, administrators) regarding student behaviors.
-Support the development of behavior goals for students with site teams.
-Plan and implement functional behavioral assessments with site teams.
-Develop behavior intervention plans with site teams.
-Assist the Special Education Administration team in developing behaviorally focused trainings.
-Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
-Experience in behavior intervention and positive behavior support strategies.
-Ability to train and support educational staff in behavior management.
-Strong collaboration skills with various stakeholders, including specialized program teams and site staff.
-Expertise in functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plan development.
Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a valid California Single Subject, Education Specialist Instruction, or Pupil Personnel Services credential
AND
BCBA Certification
*Strong background in behavior assessment and management required (FBAs, BIPs, Behavior trainings, etc.)
