The Associate Director, External Affairs will be responsible for working with colleagues across the External Affairs team and the Company to manage policymaker and other key stakeholder casework inquiries. The Associate Director will also attend key events, including legislative hearings, opinion-elite forums, and other briefings to provide timely summaries of the events to External Affairs team members.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the process for advancing, tracking, resolving, and responding to sensitive, high-profile casework inquiries from policymakers and stakeholders. Develop clear, cogent action plans with meaningful measurement and metrics, dashboards, or other reporting tools to track casework status as well as key trends and themes with incoming casework
- Serve as liaison and point of contact for federal policymakers and their staffs, as well as other key stakeholders to communicate in a clear and concise manner the status and resolution for casework inquiries. Work across External Affairs and with other Enterprise leaders to resolve casework in a timely manner, and exercise judgement to determine when it is necessary to escalate casework with both External Affairs and internal company leaders
- Attend key events, including legislative hearings, opinion-elite forums, and other briefings to provide timely summaries of the events and manage follow-up, as appropriate
- Contribute to and develop timely content to support declared priorities, including - but not limited to - talking points, executive updates, advocacy materials, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, scripts, talking points, and other collateral materials for use by External Affairs
- Proactive pursuit of opportunities to stay current on internal and external political dynamics, policy positions, and messaging, and the relevant external environment. Must be able to distill complex topics and issues for executive and lay audiences

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience preferably working in Congress, the Executive Branch, government relations, public affairs, public policy, advocacy, or campaigns
- Experience in the health care sector
- Located in Washington, D.C. metro area and willing to work a hybrid work model - a minimum of three days a week
