JOB TITLE: Level One Technician SUPERVISOR: Director of Technology
Scope:
The Level One Technician shall be responsible for providing exceptional technical support, including but not limited to installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software while ensuring optimal performance as defined by the Board of Education Rules and Regulations, the District Superintendent, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Technology
Performance Responsibilities/Duties:
Transport, configure, and provide technical support for Chromebook devices.
Assist in general cleaning, maintenance and repair/replacement of Chromebook parts including, but not limited to: screen replacement, keyboard, cameras and touchpads.
Provide overall chromebook technical support at all school levels.
Maintain inventory established by the district.
Upgrade hardware components as needed.
Update firmware as needed.
Reclaim usable parts from decommissioned hardware.
Utilize an online technical support ticketing database (SYAM) or other specified process to access and/or document support calls.
Prioritize support requests to ensure users’ needs are met in a timely fashion
Communicate effectively with staff, students and/or parents to provide information regarding repairs.
Maintain device part inventory and report low stock to the Lead Technician.
Implements projects and tasks as identified by the Director of Technology.
Perform all other projects and duties/responsibilities as requested by the Director of Technology or designee.
Skill Requirements:
Outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to identify, prioritize and complete multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
Ability to diagnose and repair physical/hardware issues of Chromebooks.
Ability to make decisions and function effectively with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of device hardware.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Required. Associate Degree or beyond preferred.
Two (2) years of related IT / computer repair or troubleshooting work experience preferred.
Experience with Google G-Suite, Chrome OS, and other applications supported by an educational environment preferred.
Demonstrated increased responsibility in work environments requiring minimal direction.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Possession of a valid Connecticut Driver’s license and proof of insurance.
May require occasional work outside of standard business hours.
