Responsibilities: - Tutor undergraduate and graduate students in various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Unity, Arduino and other languages you are fluent in.
- Tutor students in software programs you are proficient in, such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, AfterEffects, AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, Revit, SketchUp, Blender, etc.
- Work with students of varying skill levels from demonstrating the basics to assisting with complex problems and a range of issues in between.
- Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences.
- Complete administrative tasks, such as writing brief descriptions of each session and emailing a brief summary of daily attendance during remote tutoring period.
- Other opportunities include leading in-class workshops and/or specialized ULC workshops.
- Tutoring will be hybrid, with some students requesting in-person sessions.
Work Mode: Hybrid Salary: $28.08/hr

Minimum Qualifications: | - Tutors must have strong knowledge of computer programming and a high level of expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Knowledge of additional programming languages is highly preferred, especially Python.
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at The New School.
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or similar experience, is preferred.
- Please send at least one faculty recommendation indicating your proficiency with specific programming languages or software programs to learningcenter@newschool.edu.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
- Able to commit to 6 (or more) tutoring hours per week
- Willingness to tutor in person 25-50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications: | - Experience working with ESL and graduate-level students strongly preferred
- Federal Work Study preferred
