We are currently seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Metropolitan State Hospital located in Norwalk, California.
50 Per hour + Benefits and 401k
M-F Day shift - hours flexible 6am-2:30pm, 7am-3:00pm
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will work under the general direction of the departmental Pathologist and the Supervising Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform a full range of clinical laboratory procedures according to established protocols. This includes gathering and preparing laboratory specimens, making smears, examining cultures, recording test results, and reviewing them for completeness and accuracy. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will also help ensure that the department is in compliance with the Joint Commission and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) requirements and participate in the departmental Quality Assurance and Improvement program
Requires a California Generalist or Clinical Lab Scientist with minimum of 1 year experience in a Hospital
Qualifications
Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license (Generalist) issued by the state of California
Bachelor's degree in pathology
Active CPR certification
Ability to pass drug screen and criminal background check
We are looking for a candidate with experience on the following methodologies and experience using Ortho Vitros Analyzer, Abbott Alinity Analyzer and Beckman Coultier – DXH 600.
