The Air Compressor Technician is responsible for all maintenance, inspection, and/or repair of the all the Air Compressors and Air Compressor Control systems in all facilities owned or operated by Universal Studios Hollywood, along with other duties as assigned. This includes but is not limited to operational aspects such as Programming/Automation, Preventive Maintenance tasks, Repairs, and performing and/or overseeing new and replacement installations. The individual will connect pneumatic lines, work in and around electrical power sources, check for proper operation, program control systems to achieve proper function for a given venue, and make all the compressors are maintaining proper oil levels. The individual must be able to demonstrate the capability to cut and reinstall piping, check electrical and electronic circuits and troubleshoot at the system and component level, and have comprehensive knowledge of Air Compressors, Air Compressors functions, and Air Compressor maintenance and installation procedures.
Job Responsibilities
• Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, and adjusts all different makes and models of Air Compressor equipment throughout the park. • Inspects equipment and controls and makes program adjustments as needed. • Installation and programming of new equipment, equipment controls, and supporting work. • Connects systems to pneumatic supply lines and other components • Installs electrical wiring and controls and tests for proper operation • Equipment cleaning, care, and maintenance. • Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures within Technical Services and USH at large. • Promotes and provides extraordinary guest service for both internal and external guests; answers questions, offer information, and provide assistance in a courteous manner. • Understands and demonstrates the proper use of safety practices and ensures department standards are maintained and safety policies for the Park upheld. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Must be 18 years of age or older. • Advanced knowledge of diagnostics and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of Air Compressor systems. • Knowledge of microelectronics. • Knowledge of applicable code requirements; methods and practicesfollowed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment. • Ability & willingness to work a variety of schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays with short notice. • Ability and willingness to respond to incidents in locations requiring climbing, fall protection, and other non-traditional work environments. • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written on a technical level. • Must have the ability to motivate employees and work independently and as part of a team.
