There is currently one vacancy the Purchasing and Warehouse Department working 5 days per week ( 6:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.), 12 months per year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and four years of responsible warehouse work, involving receipt, storage and issuance of supplies and equipment.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver's license. Valid forklift certification.
Examination Procedures And Information
Exam Weight: Supplemental Questions: Qualifying Written Examination: 50% Qualifications Appraisal Interview: 50%
The supplemental questions to the application will be reviewed and rated for certification. These questions are required at the time of application and are qualifying.
An eligibility list will be established for successful candidates which will be used to fill open positions during the life of the list.
Examinations and interviews held to create the eligible list will be conducted virtually, using different online/internet platforms that require video recording or conferencing capabilities, as well as access to a computer with internet connection and basic Microsoft Office Suite Software.
The virtual written exam is tentatively scheduled for the week of July 8th. All who are successful with the written exam will be invited to the virtual qualifications appraisal interview which is tentatively scheduled for the week of July 22nd. Job Responsibilities
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Lead and participate in the receiving, storing and issuing of District supplies and equipment; receive shipments from vendors; inspect shipments received for damages and proper count; match packing slips, bills of lading against items received and the purchase order; process clearance for payment; record deviation from purchase order; oversee and participate in the stocking of products.
Rotate perishable and nonperishable inventory as needed; assure food shipments are not spoiled or damaged.
Fill requisitions; prepare items or supplies for transportation according to established procedures; transport materials as needed to various District locations as needed.
Train and provide work direction to assigned staff; prioritize work assignments.
Answer telephones; greet and assist visitors; provide information and data concerning Warehouse requisitions, purchase orders, stock on hand, back orders and shipment discrepancies, damage or storage.
Load and unload delivery vehicles as needed.
Establish and maintain warehouse and distribution control records.
Operate a District vehicle and a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and postage meters; operate and maintain freezers and refrigerators.
Maintain and assemble a wide variety of assigned equipment; communicate with outside vendors regarding equipment repairs; maintain related records.
Participate in annual and periodic inventories of warehouse items; reconcile vendor returns and credit memos.
Plan storage locations and utilize space efficiently.
Maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition; maintain correct temperature conditions for food storage in accordance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to warehouse operations as assigned; generate monthly postage report for operating site billing.
Order products utilizing an on-line computer system or over the phone; research specialty items for District events; arrange for deliveries of products and equipment for special events.
Communicate with school and District personnel regarding the pickup and delivery of orders; communicate with vendors regarding pricing and status of orders.
Assist in the preparation of information utilized in updating and revising warehouse catalogs.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform related duties as assigned.
