The program consists of:
-Classroom and on-line educational presentations.
-Initial follow-up competency validation and development plans
-Clinical rotation under the supervision of qualified preceptors
-Ongoing meetings with the clinical educator, preceptor and others to assure progression and advancement on the continuum from novice to competent performance.
At the completion of the program, the participants will be able to:
-Successfully handle adult patient assignments
-Demonstrate a complete physical and psychosocial assessment on a patient
-Take appropriate problem-solving actions when confronted with a clinical or administrative dilemma
-Work cooperatively and effectively with physicians, family members and other members of the health-care team.
Our program is facilitated by nurse experts with special emphasis on: clinical skills, critical thinking skills, leadership abilities, communication skills, patient safety, and professional career development.
Program Dates
Attendance for the entire training and clinical rotations are mandatory and must have full availability for the entire 14+ week training period. Some clinical rotations are scheduled for both day and night shifts. There is no cost to participants in the program, and participants will be compensated during the program.
QualificationsExperience:
- New Graduate RN with less than 6 months of RN experienc
Minimum Requirements:
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support- within first six months of employment into the position.
- Neonatal Resuscitation- within first six months of employment into the position.
- Basic Arrhythmia- within first six months of employment
- Basic Fetal Monitoring within first six months of employment.
