Position Summary
Coordinate Emergency Preparedness Program including the Emergency Operations Manual, training, and exercises.
Essential Functions
Maintain and continually update the Emergency Operations Plan (25%)
Plan, execute, and evaluate disaster drills &/or events to improve hospital readiness (30%)
Represent hospital at regional coalition meetings and regional exercises (10%).
Manage grant funding opportunities and maintain grant funded inventory (10%).
Document after action reviews and track compliance with improvement plans (10%).
Maintain inventory of all disaster related equipment and PPE (5%).
Prepare and execute training in hospital incident command and specialized response teams such as the HERT Team. (5%)
Respond and support emergency/incidents as they occur (5%)

Qualifications Education
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management Required or
3-5 years additional fire department experience accepted in lieu of degree Required
Work Experience
3 years experience in Emergency management field Required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Well versed in OSHA, JCAHO, NFPA, fire and building codes and their interpretations/applications. Required
Able to develop and conduct education programs. Required
Should have working knowledge of hazardous materials protocols/procedures and bioterrorism/disaster preparedness Required
Personal computers and database program knowledge Required
Basic knowledge of FEMA Incident Command System Required
Detailed knowledge of all levels of incident command system Required
