The Perioperative Services Institute Nursing Director, directs comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, patient-centered programs across the continuum, creates a culture that promotes an environment of healing by focusing on the emotional and physical well-being of patients and employees.

Responsibilities:
- Directs comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, patient-centered programs.
- Collaborates with senior nurse and physician leadership in strategic and operational planning related to current and future programs within the Institute.
- Develops educational programs and resources to support best nursing practices and specialty needs of the Institute.
- Leads and directs the inpatient and outpatient nurse managers in providing consultation and serves as a resource to staff regarding nursing practice.
- Ensures nursing and clinical practice in accordance with philosophy, standards and objectives of the Cleveland Clinic.
- Provides leadership and guidance to all employees in assigned areas.
- Establishes and promotes a climate for excellence in nursing practice and ongoing professional development of practitioners.

Education:
- Master's Degree in nursing or related field required.
- BSN required.
Certifications:
- Current state licensure as an Registered Nurse (RN).
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work autonomously.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Five years recent nursing clinical practice to include at least two years healthcare management required.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
- Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the campus and to function in a stressful environment.
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
- Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
- Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
