Job Description:
Position Title: Sn. Director, Global Distribution
Location: Bothell, WA (preferred) & Norwalk, CT
Reporting to: VP, Strategic Sourcing
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel locally and globally (up to 50%)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Professional to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the global Distribution Center organization. The chosen candidate will have functional responsibility for the design, execution, and improvement of systems, processes, and teams to deliver Genie finished equipment to global customers while cost effectively meeting expectations of quality and On Time Delivery. The global Distribution Center organization is located across (15) global locations and focuses on the receipt, PDI inspection, reconfiguration, loading, and shipment of all Genie AWP machinery. The Sn. Director, Global Distribution will drive global best practices and improvement initiatives in our distribution and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) processes and locations in all regions to maximize throughput while meeting Genie’s commitment to Quality by Design. Additionally, this role will be responsible for designing and implementing the Distribution Center of the Future strategic roadmap to increase Genie’s use of automation and digital workforce management. The successful candidate will work closely with other functions including Materials Management, Quality, Sales, and Operations to ensure Genie can successfully support volume ramps globally while maintaining best-in-class quality customer deliveries. This position will also collaborate with design engineering through Genie’s New Product Development (NPD) process to ensure new machine designs and packaging solutions are in line with transportation market requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate closely with Global Logistics teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective transport of machines to customers and Genie Distribution Centers including carrier selection and monitoring

- Ensure Distribution Center standards are designed to meet local customer requirements
- Ensure factory quality and inspection standards are coordinated to support global DC requirements
- Development and deployment of global digital Daily Management Systems at all DC locations
- Apply key lean principles and tools in regional DC operations to identify and eliminate waste
- Assess finished goods storage and handling facilities, capacities, and plans to ensure adequate space, process, and capacity to maintain industry-competitive lead times and growth targets
- Develop Distribution Center of the Future Strategic Roadmap and drive execution of automation, efficiency, and quality control into the global network
- Evaluate Distribution Center global footprint utilizing scenario analysis software to ensure machine routing is optimized for fixed cost, landed cost, and machine quality in each region
- Lead safety assessment and improvement efforts in Distribution Centers while working with extended Terex safety team on roll-out and adaptation of safety standards, procedures, and metrics
- Work closely with engineering and production to support strategic development activities and associated risk management around transportation damage for finished machines
- Determine opportunities for training, resources, and tools for the Global Distribution team
- Develop and report on KPIs to measure and improve Global Distribution activities
- Design, develop and improve processes, systems, and action plans that support the above
- Possess a passion for improving operational performance through continuous improvement
- Prepares pertinent information for monthly operations reviews with Genie and Terex executive management team, interfaces with Terex Corporate and other Terex divisions’ supply chain teams
- Ability to travel worldwide on a frequent basis
- Understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts (INCOTERMS, title & risk transfer)
- Experience supporting and auditing an ISO 9000 or equivalent Quality System
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field from accredited college/university
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing and distribution, preferable with an industrial OEM
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational logistics, preferable in carrier performance management
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing people, preferable multi-site and multi-cultural environments
- Demonstrated understanding of Lean principles, production systems, and business systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken across cultures, time zones, and styles
- Must be willing to travel as required (up to 50%)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Expert knowledge in the application of Quality Management Systems, problem resolution techniques and improvement tools essential – 8D,APQP,PPAP,MSA
- Certification in lean manufacturing (Ex. IASSC Sig Sigma Black/Green Belt, SME Lean Gold, etc)
- Analytical skills with the ability to effectively analyze and present data
- Experience leading large global teams in a matrix reporting environment to achieve objectives
- Experience in Trade Compliance activities, specifically US-MX Trade requirements
- Experience in Supply side forecasting within Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
The salary range for this position is $180k - $225k. The salary range may be higher or lower depending on the applicant’s location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
