Essential Functions
Receiving, following up, ordering and sending of reference and in-house ancillary lab testing, including registration, accessioning, and transcription of results to the laboratory LIS.
Ensures all specimens sent to reference labs are in compliance with the labs’ requirements for specimen type, processing, volume, and temperature. Resolves any issues prior to sending. Ensures all necessary forms are provided and all required information is included resolving outliers in a timely manner.
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of policies, procedures, processes and services relevant to referral testing including reflex pathways. Maintains competency to answer most frequently asked questions from internal and external customers regarding specimen requirements, test results, test schedules and esoteric testing.

Qualifications Education
High School Equivalent / GED . Required and
Associate's Degree in a science related field Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Microsoft Office skills in Word and Excel, customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of pathology terminology, knowledge of pathology lab testing including reflex pathways. Required
Computer skills essential; Required
knowledge of laboratory information systems. Preferred
Able to multi-task, prioritize and mange own time efficiently. Required
Organization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Required
