I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:
The Director of Digital Transformation leads a team of digital transformation specialists who proactively and holistically facilitate the development and maintenance of the GW IT initiatives roadmap, stay abreast of the IT portfolio of projects, and provide expertise in change management for digital transformation. This position focuses on building relationships with the business and IT stakeholders to inform the IT initiatives roadmap process, communicating about the IT portfolio, and promoting the value of change management throughout the organization.
Manage a team of digital transformation specialists to develop and mature the digital transformation practice into an internal consultancy for IT around change management, portfolio management, and roadmap planning
Research and understand the disruptive forces of higher education and the technology industry to inform the development of the IT roadmap
Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders to identify key drivers, targeted business outcomes, and future state capabilities that inform the development of the IT roadmap and the IT portfolio of projects
Collaborate with IT leadership on the development of technology plans for the enterprise, based on business requirements and the varying technology strategies for project-driven or product-driven delivery teams
Provide support needed to ensure execution on key initiatives on the IT roadmap, alignment of initiatives with the institution’s goals, and deliver transparent communication to campus stakeholders
Be a leader in change management to drive adoption of digital transformation initiatives with business and IT stakeholders
Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 8 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 6 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Proven ability to engage business and IT stakeholders, creating and building relationships.
General knowledge of information management practices including system development life cycle management, IT Service management, agile and lean methodologies, project and portfolio management.
Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and the challenges and opportunities for higher education.
Experience in managing a team of professional IT, providing guidance and assessing progress through annual performance reviews.
Strong consulting skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, targeted communication, collaboration, facilitation and negotiation.
Organizationally savvy, with situational and contextual intelligence of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics.
Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
Hiring Range
$123,094.34 - $200,028.30 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
