Thompson Palm Springs is now recruiting for a talented Chef de Cuisine to join the hotel’s pre-opening team for Lola Rose, Grand Mezze.?Thompson Palm Springs is the desert’s most exciting destination tailored for influential locals and sophisticated globetrotters alike. Situated at the heart of the city’s iconic Palm Canyon Drive, the hotel will offer a collection of 168 bungalow-inspired guest rooms and suites coupled with our total event space of 8,000 square feet plus additional outdoor and unique spaces. Thompson Palm Springs will also house its own mainstay dining concept that will feed into the menus at two bespoke pools and accompanying lounges. an impressive array of ground-level retail space spanning over 30,000-square-feet, guests will also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and a first-of-its-kind tasting room from HALL Napa Valley, with additional tenants to follow.
The Chef de Cuisine with lead the Culinary Operations of our restaurant, Lola Rose, Grand Mezze. The Chef de Cuisine will take council from the Executive Chef to create, implement menu and concepts, but the position is designed so that individuals will work in a manner that is consistent as that of an independent owner/operator.
Responsibilities include:
· Act as senior leadership by developing and assuming key management responsibilities
· Assume the role of liaison between all dining room operations and culinary staff
· Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
· Develop and implement creative menu items within the restaurant concept
· Plan, coordinate & implement special events and holiday functions
· Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
· May manage other key culinary leadership rolls including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs
· Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
· Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
· Participate in marketing events directly related to their specific restaurant
The annual salary range for this position is $66,560 to $96,000. This is the annual salary for this position that Thompson Palm Springs reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.
- In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
- Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
- Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service
- Proficient in general computer knowledge
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
- Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
- Strong training and communication skills
- Culinary education and/or on the job training, independent restaurant experience is preferred
- Geographic and schedule flexibility preferred
