Position Summary:
Incumbent performs diagnostic troubleshooting, repair, preventive services and maintenance of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical biomedical and laboratory equipment. microprocessor based laboratory analyzers, lasers, patient monitors, defibrillators and other advanced biomedical instrumentation. Evaluates new, proposed and existing equipment and related specifications for safe and proper use.

Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Minimum $38.32 Midpoint $42.99 Maximum $47.66
Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Trained on major equipment types such as: Patient Monitoring, Medical Lasers, Anesthesia Equipment, and Respiratory Care Equipment
A.S. in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology plus 4 years equivalent experience. Military equivalent accepted.
Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and manufacturer's technical manuals
Must work overtime as required to meet hospital needs
Must be able to rotate call back duties on nights and weekends for emergency repairs
Prior experience servicing Clinical Engineering Equipment
Current State of California Driver's License
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
Trained on major equipment groups such as: Monitoring, Lasers, Laboratory Equipment, Ultrasound Machine, Portable X-Ray machines, Portable C-Arm machines, Portable Injectors, Anesthesia Systems and Ventilators
CBET (ICC Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician)
Understanding of JCAHO requirements
Understanding of NFPA 99, CAP, Title 22 and other regulatory agencies for Clinical Engineering
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
