Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, plan, coordinate and monitor an array of services to assist with the vocational development of students in an assigned District program; assist individual students with developing post high school goals including training and career choice. Provide pre-employment skills training and work experience opportunities; serve as a liaison between students, parents, District personnel, employers and outside agencies in enhancing student post-secondary goals.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: Associates degree with course work in sociology, psychology or related field and four years experience working with high school students with special needs and/or "at risk" students, at least two of which must be in vocational assessment and development. Experience with government contracts desirable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid certifications provided by American Heart Association, American Red Cross or District approved provider for First Aid, Adult/Child CPR and AED. Online certifications will be accepted from these vendors as long as a hands-on skills assessment is completed. Recertification to maintain current/valid status is a condition of employment.
Valid California driver's license.
Current vacancy is with the Workability/TPP program (Special Education Department) and is 40hrs/week - 10.5 mos/year
**Classified staff working in this job classification who have earned a valid and current CA teaching credential, will be placed at Step 6 of the salary range designated for this classification.**
