High School graduate, G.E.D. or equivalent
Completion of an SPD certification training program from a recognized institution
General ability to operate machinery including sterilizers, washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Good communication and customer service skills
Basic knowledge of computer systems including Windows OS, keyboard and mouse operation
Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of standard precautions for safety and prevention of cross-contamination
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
The ability to understand, speak, and write English to communicate with nursing, technical, and medical staff
Ability to safely move heavy trays and equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods
