We are seeking a dedicated Support Counselor to provide essential counseling and case management services with the Wraparound team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in connecting youth to community resources, delivering crisis intervention, and supporting their overall well-being. The Support Counselor provides services throughout Solano County for individuals aged 6 to 18 years old.
ABOUT SOLANO WRAPAROUND
The Solano Wraparound program supports Solano County children and adolescents in the Child Welfare, Probation, and Mental Health systems who are transitioning from or at risk of entering out-of-home care or juvenile hall. Aimed at keeping youth in family-like settings, the program serves clients aged 6-18. The team includes a Care Coordinator (guides the family team in developing treatment goals), a Therapist (provides tailored therapy sessions weekly), a Permanency Specialist (ensures the involvement of key supporters), and a Support Counselor (offers in-home support and coaching). Services are available at least 1-2 times a week, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities
Support client and family to connect to natural supports and community-based resources
Provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at client homes, schools, and other community locations
Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when necessary
Complete mental health notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated
Assist with planning arrangements and transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings as needed
Attend team meetings, weekly trainings, individual and group supervisions, and adhere to clinical best practices
Participate in providing emergency on-call response as scheduled
Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Experience/education requirements:
Bachelor’s degree OR
Associate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable work experience OR
High school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experience
Applicable experience includes any paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families, or working in the social services field
Flexible schedule with the ability to work some evening hours as needed
Be part of a rotating emergency pager system, scheduled with supervisor ahead of time
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption
PREFERRED
Bilingual in Spanish
Experience working with children in out-of-home care
Ability to work as a team player, with diverse population and demonstrates cultural competency
SKILLS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
Skills in cultivating and maintaining relationships with community members, county partners, and mental health providers
Ability to complete documentation promptly and efficiently

Full-time
Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5:30pm
Hybrid; provide in-person services & complete documentation remotely
Benefits
Starting at $22.66 - $25.16 per hour, commensurate with experience
As of July 7th, this starting range will increase to $23.34 - $25.84per hour
Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam

Stipends provided to staff members participating in the emergency on-call shifts
